Julia Massey: Music

Return to Rocks

(Julia Massey)
don't mind me
i am simply
wandering in the shadows
of your thoughts
and wishing they were mine
cause then i'd be you
all the time
i used to picture people
shriveling to death
in parking lots
where all the pavement
made the pine trees
pine for savin

the words inside
your mouth
have all become reborn
and found a home
inside this very heart
and that's why we're
never apart
i used to think
that all my hair
was growing long
but now i know
my body's shrinking in
so i can just begin again

went walking down the street and found
some other people walking
round
with nothing on their
nothing on their
nothing on their
nothing on their
minds at all
and everybody looked the same
nobody could tell me their name
or anything
or anything
or anything
or anything at all beside
beside their name

the landscape
that i see is changing
in a way
that makes we wont
for different situations
before we're all just
illustrations
and even though i know
i'll never really leave
i want this spirit
to talk to my mind
if only to acknowledge time

when everybody feels this timid certainty
we all become a slave to paradox
until we all return,
return to rocks
